Una tira l'altra! Le perline sono come le ciliegie, i desideri, i sogni e i progetti: nascono le une dalle altre , cambiano, si moltiplicano, diventano sempre più belle e più grandi. Questo è il succo del pomeriggio dedicato allo Slow Jewellery nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze. E la cosa più importante ce l'ha svelata Alida, splendida cinquantenne che gestisce la vicina Locanda San Ginese. "Io non ho manualità" ha esordito, e poi ci ha ripensato "ma questo è un pregiudizio!". E alla fine ci aveva preso gusto anche lei, perché l'importante è rilassarsi, chiacchierare, lasciar fluire le idee. Il resto vien da sé, perché Unfreeze è innanzitutto libertà! You can't stop playing with them! Pearls are like desires, dreams and projects: one after another appears, they change, they multiply and get bigger and better! This is just a few words to sum up our afternoon dedicated to Slow Jewellery, the course of creative jewellery which took place in the Unfreeze home-lab in the hills of Lucca last Saturday. And was Alida, owner and manager of the charming Locanda San Ginese, who revelead what's most important. "I can't do it, I'm hopeless" she began, but then she changed her mind "Ok, this is just a prejudice!", and at the end she was having real fun. All you have to do is relax, chat and let your ideas flow smoothly, because with Unfreeze you are free to create. Would you like to have a look? Here's a photo story of the lab! Take part in the next events! In June there will be two photography walks on 13th and 27th in the hills of Lucca. And to rediscover the joy of sewing, two appointments are scheduled for 19th and 26th June when we will be creating children's clothes and bags together. All the activities will be in Italian, but an English speaking tutor will be present to help those in need. This is the perfect opportunity to learn or improve your Italian! "Vamos a la playa" in sottofondo, la testa grigia di mia nonna chinata a infilare l'ago, io che rovisto nella scatola dei fili: rocchetti, fettucce e qualche strass impertinente. Istantanea da un'infanzia in cui saper cucire sembrava normale. Oggi è un sogno. Lavoro, casa, famiglia, il tempo vola via, ma i desideri restano. Nessuna di noi trova il tempo di farlo, ma tutte ci diciamo "Chissà! Forse un giorno imparerò a cucire..." e conserviamo in qualche angolo della casa una scatola dei fili. Di vimini con l'imbottitura in stoffa, di legno con i cuori tirolesi, di latta con la scritta "frollini al burro": rimane sempre un oggetto fascinoso, intimo, magico. Riapriamola insieme e riscopriamo il gusto di realizzare piccole creazioni, per noi, per i nostri bambini o semplicemente ... per gioco.
Unfreeze propone un laboratorio creativo alla riscoperta del cucito: tre appuntamenti per acquisire e migliorare le tecniche base dell'arte di cucire realizzando borse e semplici vestiti per bambini. Ci incontreremo il 19 e il 26 giugno nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze sulle colline di Lucca e, a partire da un modello preimpostato dalle nostre laboriose tutor, Maria e Veronica, sceglieremo i materiali, i decori, le soluzioni migliori per dare forma al nostro progetto. Sperimenteremo accostamenti di colori, mix di tessuti diversi, applicazioni e ricami, tutto all'insegna del divertimento e della creatività. Gli incontri si terranno il sabato pomeriggio, dalle 15:00 alle 19:00. Puoi portare con te una stoffa a cui sei affezionata o un vecchio vestito da rielaborare, oppure puoi scegliere dal nostro baule lo scampolo che più ti piace. E se vuoi "cucirti addosso" un week end di creatività e turismo, Unfreeze è con te! "Vamos a la playa" playing on the radio, my gray-haired granny bending to thread a needle, and me rummaging through the sewing box: reels of thread, ribbons and a few mischievous pearls. A snippet from a childhood when knowing how to sew was taken for granted. Not today. It's a dream! Work, home, family, always in a hurry, but our desires persist. None of us can find the time, but we all say to ourselves "Maybe... maybe one day I'll learn to sew..." and we keep a box of threads in some corner of the house. That box could be a wicker basket with a padded lining, or made of wood decorated with Tyrolese hearts, or an old "butter biscuit" tin. Whatever it is, that sewing box is a fascinating, intimate and magic thing. Let's open it again together and rediscover the joy of making small sewing creations for us, for our children, or just for... fun.
Unfreeze proposes a creative course to rediscover how to sew: two meetings to learn or improve the basic techniques of sewing while creating bags and simple clothes for children. We will be meeting on Saturday 19th and 26th June in the home-lab of Unfreeze in the hills near Lucca. Beginning with patterns prepared by our stylists Maria e Veronica, we will choose the materials, the decorations and the best way to create our projects. We will experiment with matching colours, mixing different fabrics and apply trimming and embroidery. All that while having fun and feeling free to be creative. You can bring with you some favourite fabric or a piece of clothing you would like to revive or choose something from our box of remnants. The meetings will be from 3 to 7 pm and all the activities will be in Italian... But don't worry! An English speaking teacher of Italian will be present for those in need. This is the perfect opportunity to learn or improve your Italian! And if you are looking for a "taylor-made" week end, Unfreeze is here to help you. Una fragola a terra è una fragola. Oppure? La fretta di tornare casa. Oppure? L'inizio di una passione travolgente. Oppure? La fine di un amore a colpi di macedonia. Oppure? La prova di un delitto. Oppure? Un capriccio. Se ci fermiamo a guardare, le piccole cose raccontano mille storie. E saper guardare è un'arte che tutti possono imparare: bastano tempo, attenzione e... una macchina fotografica, lo strumento ideale per allenare la propria curiosità!
Unfreeze propone due appuntamenti di Photo-curiosity, ovvero il piacere di stupirsi guardando il mondo attraverso una scatola. Domenica 13 e sabato 26 giugno ci incontreremo nella casa-laboratorio sulle colline di Lucca e di lì partirà la nostra avventura fotografica a caccia dei soggetti che più ci appartengono. Gli incontri, oltre ad offrire spunti tecnici, si orienteranno sulla ricerca e sullo sviluppo di un proprio "sguardo fotografico", personale, libero e creativo. Saranno ottime occasioni per condividere con nuovi amici la passione per la fotografia, rilassarsi, lasciare la mente libera di creare, camminare all'aperto, respirare i profumi del bosco. Staremo insieme dalle 15:00 alle 19:00 sotto la guida fantasiosa e paziente di Margherita, di cui segnaliamo lo splendido photo-album.

A strawberry on the groud is a strawberry. Or is it? Going back home in a hurry. Or? An uncontrollable passion? A love story which ending in a fruit fight? Evidence of a crime? A tantrum? If we stop and look, the little things can tell us many stories. And knowing how to look is an art we can all learn: we just need time, attention and... a camera, the best tool to develop our curiosity!
Unfreeze proposes two laboratories of Photo-curiosity, or rather the pleasure of suprising yourself observing the world through a small box. On Sunday 13rd and Saturday 26th June we'll meet in the home-lab in the hills of Lucca and, after getting to know each other, go for a photo-walk, searching for things that better reflect us. Besides offering a few technical tips and tricks, the laboratories will help you search for and develop a "photographic look", that is personal, free and creative. An opportunity to meet new friends, to share a passion for photography, to relax, be outside and breathe the scent of the woods, in short to unfreeze your (photo-)mind! You can choose to attend one or both of the meetimgs. The courses are from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and will be led by Margherita, whose wonderful photo-album is available here. All the activities will be in Italian, but an English speaking Italian teacher will be present for those in need. What better opportunity to learn or improve your Italian!
