In trasferta sulle rive dell'arno pisano, ecco l'aperi-meeting dello staff di Unfreeze. Tantissime le proposte e gli spunti per la prossima stagione di laboratori: in autunno oltre alla moda, gli accessori e lo stile, la casa-laboratorio sulle colline di Lucca proporrà fotografia, poesia, scrittura creativa ed eventi! Insomma stiamo lavorando per voi... naturalmente alla maniera di Unfreeze: idee, relax e libertà!

Along the banks of the river Arno in Pisa, the Unfreeze team heald its aperi-meeting . So many suggestions and ideas for the next season of laboratories and courses. And beginning from the autumn besides fashion, accessories and style, the home-lab in the hills of Lucca is offering photography, poetry, creative writing and events! To sum up, we’re working for you ... obviously in the Unfreeze way: ideas, relaxation and freedom to be creative!

La scatola dei fili - Sewing box: photo story

Di nuovo bambine in quattro ore! Non è un nuovo trattamento di bellezza, né un "abracadabra" allo scoccare della mezzanotte. E' quello che è successo durante il primo episodio del workshop di cucito creativo che si è tenuto lo scorso sabato nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze. Era tutto pronto alle tre del pomeriggio, quando sono arrivate le partecipanti, un po' intimidite dallo strano posto (un po' salotto, un po' atelier, un po' famiglia, un po' studio,...). Ed è bastato un breve giro di conoscenza, qualche risata e gli spunti che ci hanno regalato Maria e Veronica, le nostre stylist-tutor, a sciogliere l'atmosfera.


La filosofia è quella dell'imparare facendo. E' poi vero che bisogna essere "artisti" per ideare, progettare e realizzare? Ognuno di noi ha qualcosa da dire, basta lasciargli lo spazio di uscire. Sono poi vere le raccomandazioni delle nostre mamme, nonne, zie sull'importanza di essere precise? "Prima esercitati ad andare dritta, poi potrai pensare di cucire qualcosa". Nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze, è bastata l'idea di creare una propria borsa per percorrere tutte le fasi del processo: disegno, taglio, imbastitura e montaggio ... e c'è anche stato spazio per una merenda per grandi e piccini!





Alcune sono arrivate al semi-finito, altre sono addirittura andate oltre con applicazioni e decorazioni, altre ancora (come chi scrive) si sono fermate un po' prima ... ma non c'è problema, perché ci rivediamo sabato 26 giugno dalle 15 alle 19 per completare e rifinire i nostri progetti o per avviarne di nuovi. Ad ognuno i suoi tempi, i suoi desideri, le sue fantasie. Unfreeze è prima di tutto libertà!

Back to being little girls in just four hours! It's neither a beauty treatment, nor a midnight spell. It's what happened during last Saturday's session of "Sewing box", the creative course organised in the home-lab of Unfreeze in the hills near Lucca. Everything was ready at three o’clock, when all the participants arrived. Perhaps at first they were a bit nervous because of the unusual location (dining room, studio, home or laboratory?), but after a brief introduction, a lot of smiles and the creative inspirations offered by our stylist, Maria e Veronica, the atmosphere became relaxed and productive. The philosophy is “learn by doing”. Is it true that you have to be an “artist” to be able to think up something, design it and create it? Each of us has something to say: the important thing is to feel free to be creative. Is it true what our grannies, aunts, mums told us about being precise? “First learn to sew in a straight line, then you can think about making something”. In the home-lab of Unfreeze it was enough to simply have the idea of creating your own bag to go through all the phases of the process: drawing, cutting, tacking and sewing … and we found the time even to have a snack together with the kids! Some of us finished their bags, some managed even to decorate them, others (like me) stopped much earlier … but never mind! We are meeting again on Saturday 26th June from 3 to 7 pm, to complete and give the finishing touches to our bags or to start something new. Each in their own time, with desires and fantasies, because, first and foremost, Unfreeze is freedom! All the activities will be in Italian, but an English speaking teacher of Italian will be present for those in need. This is the perfect opportunity to learn or improve your Italian! And if you are looking for a "taylor-made" week end, Unfreeze is linked to a network of small B&Bs around Lucca. We will be pleased to help you find suitable accomodation.

Nonostante la pioggia, non si sono arresi!
In spite of the rain, they didn't give up!

Sabato 19 giugno i partecipanti al primo episodio del laboratorio fotografico Photo-curiosity si sono riuniti nel salotto creativo di Unfreeze e con l'aiuto dei consigli di Margherita Guerri, la nostra photo-tutor, si sono avventurati in una caccia al soggetto nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze.

On Saturday 19th June the participants of the first photography workshop Photo-curiosity met in Unfreeze's creative lounge and with the help of Margherita Guerri, our photo-tutor, went on a hunt for suitable subjects inside the home lab.

E, in barba al maltempo, è stato interessante, utile e divertente! Scatti malinconici, ironici, poetici, acrobatici: la passione per la fotografia non si lascia rinchiudere tra quattro mura.

And, thought it had been raining all the time, it turned out to be an interesting, useful and fun experience! Melancholy, ironic, poetic, daring pictures: because a passion for photography can't be kept shut up.

Slow Jewellery: foto racconto - photo story

Una tira l'altra! Le perline sono come le ciliegie, i desideri, i sogni e i progetti: nascono le une dalle altre , cambiano, si moltiplicano, diventano sempre più belle e più grandi. Questo è il succo del pomeriggio dedicato allo Slow Jewellery nella casa-laboratorio di Unfreeze. E la cosa più importante ce l'ha svelata Alida, splendida cinquantenne che gestisce la vicina Locanda San Ginese. "Io non ho manualità" ha esordito, e poi ci ha ripensato "ma questo è un pregiudizio!". E alla fine ci aveva preso gusto anche lei, perché l'importante è rilassarsi, chiacchierare, lasciar fluire le idee. Il resto vien da sé, perché Unfreeze è innanzitutto libertà! Due passeggiate fotografiche, il 13 e il 27 giugno, e, per riaprire insieme la scatola dei fili, tre appuntamenti con il cucito: creiamo insieme vestiti per bambini e borse il 19 e il 26 giugno. You can't stop playing with them! Pearls are like desires, dreams and projects: one after another appears, they change, they multiply and get bigger and better! This is just a few words to sum up our afternoon dedicated to Slow Jewellery, the course of creative jewellery which took place in the Unfreeze home-lab in the hills of Lucca last Saturday. And was Alida, owner and manager of the charming Locanda San Ginese, who revelead what's most important. "I can't do it, I'm hopeless" she began, but then she changed her mind "Ok, this is just a prejudice!", and at the end she was having real fun. All you have to do is relax, chat and let your ideas flow smoothly, because with Unfreeze you are free to create. Would you like to have a look? Here's a photo story of the lab! Take part in the next events! In June there will be two photography walks on 13th and 27th in the hills of Lucca. And to rediscover the joy of sewing, two appointments are scheduled for 19th and 26th June when we will be creating children's clothes and bags together. All the activities will be in Italian, but an English speaking tutor will be present to help those in need. This is the perfect opportunity to learn or improve your Italian!
